Deep Theological Thoughts

I notice that there’s been an awful lot of cat and dog blogging on here lately. Not a bad thing, if you’re a Max-n-Erm fan, but …
I wish I had time to write about Robert Richardson’s lecture I heard last night on the Transcendentalists and education (specifically focusing on Emerson’s ideas about self-culture as the deepest kind of education one can attain), but I’ve given two lectures on completely different subjects in the past week, presented the first pages of my doctoral dissertation to my writing group, attended to at least one serious pastoral crisis, prepared some of my sabbatical travels, rehearsed for a show, started preparing for two talks at Union Theological Seminary, and started planning ahead for two workshops on how to lead worship.
